The trials and tribulations of Immortaleye Photography’s Apprentice Photographer.

Our ‘Apprentice’ has a chance to win dream training

Our ex apprentice Nils Bratby has been selected as one of the last forty in the PT4U  Fashion Apprentice Competition The winners of the two available apprenticeships will be given a years worth of training from top fashion photographers on the Photo Training 4U team. In this round the ten entrants that get the most public votes will go through to the final selection, made by the staff of PT4U.

Naturally I think Nils is by far the best entrant but of course I am slightly biased! If you agree however then every vote counts. It will cost you nothing but a moment of your time and the training he gets will help us give our customers an even better service.

His is the second on the list, email and name required to register vote. Competition closes 31st March 2012

Congratulations to our ‘Apprentice’ of getting his licentiate

With all the shoots going on up to Xmas an unexpected piece of surprise good news passed by without the congratulations deserved. Just before Xmas our apprentice photographer Nils submitted a selection of images to the SIFGP (Society of Internation Fashion and Glamour Photographers) for a mentoring program. The normal process is for them to assess the images then write back with a critique of the photos, along with advice on where improvement is needed before submitting for one of the professional awards.

Nils was braced for a shock when the letter arrived but not the one he received. It turned out that the reviewers were so impressed by the initial images they decide to skip the normal process and submit them directly for the Licentiate qualification. Which they passed with glowing comments.

So a belated congratulations to Nils Bratby LSIFGP.

Meet the apprentice .. My first studio shoot – Part I

Hello you beautiful people, I’m Nils and as well as being Baron’s son I am the studio apprentice for Immortaleye Photography in Stoke Mandeville, Aylesbury.

Apprentice Photographer for Immortaleye Photography

Nils Bratby - Apprentice Photographer for Immortaleye Photography

I’ve been taking pictures for ages, ever since I was little really, just never thought of it as something I’d do professionally. To me it was always just a hobby and something to do on my various travels aboard. However when Dad decided to open the studio I agreed to help out … and the rest as they say is history.
